Many of us strongly believe that Jesus is God, but what if someone challenges us to prove it from the scriptures (Bible or the Word of God). Being a Christian, it is natural to be questioned on topics like these. It will always help us to dig more into the scriptures and get our foundation and basics strong.
It was during my school days, that I was challenged by one of my close friend to answer this question. It was at that time I started to examine the scriptures to find a convincing answer from the Word of God. Initially my faith seemed to shake, as I was not sure of the scriptures. But as I examined the scriptures carefully, with the help of God’s Holy Spirit, He opened my eyes to see the great secrets of the Word of God, and I found my faith in God increasing than ever before.
Bible clearly reminds us that we need to prepared to give answer to those who asks us.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. I Peter 3: 15, 16
So it is good to be prepared. Remember, the answer should be given with gentleness and respect! Because that is Christ’s way of dealing with questions.
Is Jesus God?
When we read the gospels, we get to know the various roles of Christ. Christ as the Son of God, as Messiah, as the King, as a Servant, as an ideal man, etc. But when it comes to the divinity of Christ, many find it difficult to agree or believe.
- How can a man become God?
- How can God die?
- How can people kill God?
- How can God cry?
- How can Jesus being God, pray to God?
These are some of the genuine questions many people have in their minds.
In this video I am not going to answer all of these (we will discuss in detail on the upcoming posts), but I will certainly give an humble attempt to prove from one verse of the Bible that Jesus is truly God Himself. Watch this! (Feel free to share your views in the comments)
