It was on the 21st of July, 2015 I hit the publish button for my first post. Read further and you will find few things I learned in this journey.4 years

2014 Inception of this idea

It was in 2014, that the idea of creating my own blog came to my mind. I personally believe that it was a God-inspired vision as I was not a writer then. I constantly felt a push within me to share thoughts that were sparked out of personal and group meditations of the Word of God. Eventually I shared this idea with my friend Renju Koshy, who encouraged me to pursue this idea of blogging. Prayerfully we finalised on the name HisVoiceOnline which means, God’s voice is always available for us to guide us.

2015 Idea into action

Towards the end of 2014, I was posted by my company in Malaysia for an official assignment. Simultaneously, the Lord prepared me to be become active in two churches in Malaysia. During this period, I got to meet a lot of friends, with whom I spent ample time discussing our thoughts on the Word of Truth. The urgent need to start the blog kept pondering my mind so that I could communicate regularly to people far and wide irrespective of all grounds on our beloved Father’s voice. On July 21st, 2015, I published my first post. It took more than 8 hours to draft, and with the help of a few friends I got it reviewed and published.
During the one and half years I spent in Malaysia, my blog started to take pace. Soon my blog became a forum where I could share the Word of God to friends and families, near and dear ones especially when I somehow wanted to communicate to them on how the Lord was leading me.

My beloved mentor and sister in Christ, Tara aunty (late)

Every writer has an inspiration, a mentor and mine was Tara aunty! Tara aunty played the role of a mentor, and a guide with regard to reviewing my blog contents. Since she was part of the church which I attended in Malaysia, communication regarding blog was easier.  Sadly in Dec 2018, she was taken to glory. Her constant words of encouragement helped me develop as a person and as a child of God needless to say, a blogger as well. I do not wish to continue succumbing to the pain of losing her to cancer but live on in the joy of seeing her being rewarded generously by our Father in Heaven. I cherish her valuable efforts in proof-reading my content for more than 3 years till date. of course every strong woman has a backbone and that’s her husband Antony uncle who stood by my side giving me strength and comfort in all my ups and downs.

2016 YouTube channel

Moving forward, my web ministry grew from blogging to vlogging. I started a YouTube channel, HisVoiceOnline TV, to post contents such as Piano tutorials, Inspirational sermons, Bible classes and more.

2017 Whiteboard Animation Videos

Adding a twist to all the vlogging, white board animations using a software tool called VideoScribe helped me reach out to all age groups in a creative manner. Wide reception of such videos made me realise people followed better by doing so. This was a breakthrough in this journey. Further by God’s grace, I started to create short Bible study videos as well.

2018 New doors opened

Through my blog and YouTube, God opened few doors for me to expand this ministry across few organisations and like minded people. Thats when I got a glimpse of what God was doing in my life through this media ministry. When God gives an idea, He will show us one step at a time. As we obey Him and continue our journey with Him, He will lead us step by step and at the end, when we look back, we will see the big picture, one that God was trying to paint beautifully in our lives.

2019 More short videos

In Dec 2018, I got married and was blessed to create more short videos, but this time with help from my wife. Check out my YouTube channel for the recent ones.
Thank you for your valuable prayers and support for my blog. More videos and animation series are in progress. God willing, those will be appearing in this blog. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you may enter your email address below to get weekly newsletter. God bless.

Kerala Flooded: Let us pray! Here is a simple prayer! Say AMEN if you believe https://hisvoiceonline.com/urgent-prayer-kerala-floods-say-amen/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/urgent-prayer-kerala-floods-say-amen/#respond Thu, 16 Aug 2018 10:57:18 +0000 http://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=2279 A RED alert was sounded in all the 14 districts of Kerala following heavy rainfall and opening of shutters of 35 dams while more people were shifted to relief camps including 23,000 in Ernakulam. All educational institutions across the state were ordered closed on Thursday. Death toll reaches 87 (as of 2:58pm IST 16 Aug). Army, Navy, Airforce, State and Central Govt doing their best in rescue operations. Relief Camps are opened across the state. Helpline numbers are flashing through the screens. Drinking water affected. Hospitals are affected.
While human efforts are being done to help in the prevailing situation, let us also look upon the Lord God for help.
O Lord
With one heart, one mind and one spirit, let us pray this prayer.
Nothing is impossible for God. Let us seek His help during this most urgent time of need.

Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven“(Matt 18: 19) – Jesus
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matt 7:7) – Jesus

If you and me (who is reading this), agree together, and pray this prayer, it will be done! I have no doubt about it. If you also agree with me, please read this prayer silently and believing in your heart, say Amen.

Dear Lord Most God High, The Creator of the Universe, who brought the whole universe into existence at the command of Your Word.
We come to Your Most Holy Presence with fear and trembling. We, the people of Kerala and from different parts of the world come together before Your Presence. We need your help at this most urgent and critical time. Our people are perishing, land is flooded with water, and more than 80 people lost their lives. Thousands are evacuated to relief camps, and the government is struggling to help the people.
We know that You can help us. We believe that only You can help us in this situation.
Sorry God Most High for all the wrong doings of our lives. If we have grieved Your heart in any way, we are really sorry for that. We repent and turn to You O Lord. Please have mercy upon us. We are helpless and we need help. Please have mercy upon us and save the people of Kerala.
We are sorry for our rebellion, sorry for not loving You and other people around us. We have sinned against You and against You alone. We have failed in many areas of our lives. We repent and change our minds. We request you to forgive us of all our shortcomings and sins, and help the people in our land.
Lord, Your one word is enough. We know that even though millions are spent by the government, but for You, only one word is enough, because You are the One who created the universe. You have command over the rains and the climate. You are the One who created the clouds and the rain. You are the One who is in real control.
We know that You can help us.
Lord, please have mercy upon us and save our land. We plead for mercy and help. Thank you Lord for having mercy upon us and hearing our prayer.
Also, we pray for all those families who lost their dear ones. We request you to comfort their families. We also request You to help all the people who are staying in relief camps. Please help them O Lord. Give them their needs – Food, Shelter, Clothing, Good Air and Water. Lord, they have lost their households and belongings. They are in real need. Please help them O Lord. Have mercy upon Your people. Some of them are old and sick. Some are infants and little children. Some are pregnant ladies. Please help them O Lord.
We pray for all those who are doing the rescue operations. Please give them the wisdom, knowledge and intelligence to carry out the operations in the most effective way. We pray for their safety as well. Help them O Lord.
Lord, we pray for the government. Please grant them Your Wisdom in handling this emergency situation. Lord, please help them to take wise decisions. Lord, if they make a mistake, thousands of lives are going to be affected. Therefore, Lord, please grant them Your Wisdom.
Lord, we know that You are hearing our humble prayer. Once again, we ask you for Your mercy and help.
We believe that You have accepted our humble request.
We are waiting for the mighty hand of God in this situation. We believe that the rains will stop and the flood gates will be closed. We believe that the water level will decrease. We believe that the flooded areas will drain out. We believe that we will have a healthy supply of good water. Lord, we believe that you will restore the transportation, electricity and drainage system. We believe that the people can return back to their homes safely. We believe that you will turn the situations for good.
Thank you Lord for hearing our prayer.
AMEN

If you have prayed this simple prayer, we believe that God has already heard your prayer. We need more people like you to urgently pray in this situation. Please share this to likeminded people like you, so that together as we pray, the Lord will save the land of Kerala from this disaster.

Completed second year of blogging. Few words on how I started. https://hisvoiceonline.com/second-blogging-anniversary/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/second-blogging-anniversary/#comments Sat, 22 Jul 2017 18:04:04 +0000 http://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=1799 Just finished migrating the contents from my old hosting provider to the new one. It was a tedious task. Some part of it was trial and error. Almost deleted a major junk, but then I had taken a back up, hence got restored. The hosting service was supposed to expired today early afternoon, so I was in a hurry to complete the transfer before it expired. There were few issues, but the tech support guys helped me. (If you haven’t understood what these terms mean, don’t worry, I will teach you everything from scratch, in an other post. It’s very easy. I found an easy method. If you are Techie, kindly ignore 😉 )blog22
Since I competed two years of blogging today, I really wanted to post something today, to share my joy and happiness with you, as I celebrate this second blogging anniversary.

Why did I start blogging, in the first place?

I asked this question myself.
I love teaching. Many times I desired to get opportunity to speak in churches, conferences or small meetings (all because I love to share what the Lord teaches me), but most of the doors were kind of closed to me. I was in Malaysia, at that time. I had such a lot of things to share, but I felt that opportunities were missing. It’s sad that some churches prefer well qualified, experienced preachers. How then will young people get an opportunity to begin preaching? This was a great concern in my heart, so I decided to step out. I waited for few more months. Nothing worked out. Many times I go to church, enjoy worshiping God, but something was missing. I couldn’t get a chance to share/encourage another believer.
Bible says,

When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. I Cor 14: 26

So there should be some mechanism, in which people should be encouraged to speak up, share the Word of God, testimony etc. But this was missing in most of the gatherings I attended. (Pastors, leaders of church, please do something about this, encourage youngsters to step out. More on this later)
I understood the genuine need for a blog, a platform to share ideas, knowledge etc. I prayed about it, and was convinced that it was God who has put this desire in my heart to pursue blogging platform to share, learn and reach out to people.
A platform which is completely owned by me! Wow! I am the boss 😉 Yeah, but definitely under the guidance of God. After all, this is His Voice online 🙂

Many doors opened

Through this blog, I was able to reach out to so many people. The church which I attended, gave me opportunities to take Bible classes. It was a very good opportunity to interact with Tamil speaking Malaysians and Chinese Christians.
Later on, almost after 1 year, a big old traditional church in Malaysia, opened it’s door for me to preach. I was invited to preach on Sunday morning service. My blog stood out as an online address. It was a God-given opportunity, and the priest read out few lines from my first post, to introduce me. I am so thankful to God! After the sermon, lot of uncles and aunties came forward to me, to encourage and appreciate me. I was truly edified. I got new friends after that meeting. Tears fill my eyes, as I remember how good God has been in guiding me in this journey!
Also, I use this blog to share notes, after I preach. Earlier I used to take print out copies and give them out. But now I would give a link 🙂 Time, effort and money saved, and of course trees as well!

Do not bury, do something about it

God has gifted me with lot of talents writing, singing, playing instruments, preaching, teaching, video/audio making, etc. If I bury all these, and stay idle, one day the Lord will definitely ask, Son, what have you done with all these?
But now, I am happy that I found a platform to share all my learnings, through different forms –YouTube videos, audio sermons, piano tutorials, Ebooks, etc. My desire in the Lord, is to use this internet as a means to reach out to as many people as I could with the message that the Lord is giving me.

Since, I have set the post frequency as one article per week as a self-imposed deadline, I was able to effectively utilize weekends/holidays, and of course the days of the week. Usually when I get a thought from God, I keep pondering on it day and night. Learn more about it, read, explore and try it out. If it really works, I share it.
Sometimes, when I drive, I get an idea. Immediately I stop by, and note it down in my mobile as a voice note or a text. Then during the day, it keeps building up, and finally by the end of the week, it becomes an article. I start typing directly in the computer, and later on edit it. I have kept a notepad in my office desktop and home computer, for scribbling thoughts.

Today, I was just going through the rough document which I had prepared 2 years back, when this idea of blogging came to my mind. I was surprised to see that few of the goals which I had set back then, which seemed almost impossible, came true. That’s why setting goals is very important – Why should I blog? What is my intention? Who are my audience? What’s my goal in 2 years? How many posts will I write a month? How am I going to promote the articles? etc
I believe, if it is a God-given idea, we need to take it seriously. Ideas remain as ideas for ever, if it is not put it into action. I am so thankful to Amit Bagde, my colleague and friend, who pushed me to post that first article. It was a very good start. God who wants to do a work in us, will help us to completion, but you need to take that first step.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Phil 1: 6

Persistence is the key

I am so grateful to Br Robin (Media team of Ps Shyju Mathew, Revive Nations) who gave me the best advice on blogging: “Persistence is the key”
Email screenshot below

Yes, that really worked. Everytime I feel demotivated, I tell myself – Persistence is the key!

Dripping water hollows out stone, not through force but through persistence -Ovid

That one person is more than enough!

Never look at the number of people who visits your blog and get discouraged. Be consistent and wait patiently, you will definitely see the fruit. My motivation was this, if atleast one person was benefiting from my blog post, I was happy, because one person is much more valuable than the whole world. That one person will always be there

In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even ONE sinner repents Luke 15: 10

Therefore, target that one person, and you will find yourself reaching out to so many needy souls. Sometimes, I was so discouraged when I didn’t see any response, but later I was convinced that ‘no-response’ doesn’t really mean that, it was not useful, but people forget to respond. It is quite natural that we tend to forget to respond or say thanks to those who have helped us. Therefore we can never evaluate our work from the response we get.
Those times of discouragement paved way for me to learn new things, and write more articles.
READ MORE: How to speak when no one is listening?
So, it’s all about how we take it. We have a lot of things to learn from each life incidents. As somebody said, Learn to smell the roses on the way. Many times, we are too much focused on the destination, and forget to enjoy the journey.
Recently I read a wonderful book on Living Your Potential (A must read book by Pr Alexi George. barnabas.in)
Let me be honest with you, I really enjoyed this journey. I feel a great sense of satisfaction in writing. It gives meaning and purpose to my life. I now have a platform to share!

Why not Facebook and WhatsApp?

Sometimes, what we post in Facebook, gets buried in the millions of posts flooded on a daily basis. Same is the case with WhatsApp. Once the data is full, we clear the chat, and it’s gone. But if the same effort is spent on a blog post, it is worth it. Nobody can delete it. It remains there. Not only that, the more hits it gets, it ranks the top in Google Search.
Check out the title, “Simple tips to overcome hurtful words” in Google, you will find my article in top 3 🙂 Thank you Jesus.Top3
How blessed it is, that when someone who is really hurt, searches google and finds your article helpful! Without you, even knowing about it, you have helped a person, make his day. That’s a great achievement. That’s how a blog post can reach out to millions.
I was bit worried, what if my work is lost someday, when the site gets expired or if I expire. So I decided, to publish the works as a hard copy book, so that it will remain in the bookshelves for many more years! Just remember the thousands of books written decades ago which are still among the best-selling in the market today. Right now, I will focus on making it as an ebook, so that it will float around, and remain in computer/mobile hard disks.
(I could go on and on, and share my thoughts on blogging. Maybe I will share that on an other post)

Thank you!

I am also grateful to Renju Koshy who helped me right from the inception of this idea, to get it up and running. Initially I had thought to seek the help of a technical person for setting up the site, but later decided to take up the challenge to set up everything from scratch, from domain, hosting, web designing, layout and blogging.
I use this opportunity to thank my dear mentor and aunty Tara Gomez, who is the woman behind this mission. She is the one who does all the proof reading, reviewing, correction and mentoring. God bless you aunty. May you live longer, so that God can use you to be as a useful instrument to uphold many youngsters in their mission. Tara aunty lives in Malaysia, and is from Australia. She and her husband Antony uncle travels quite frequently and is busy in serving the Lord, in one of the local churches in Malaysia. In spite of their busyness, they still find time to read all my articles and do the needful correction. Once again a big thanks!
Last but not the least, I would like to thank my mom, dad, brother and our church brothers and sisters who constantly promotes my work.
Wow!! Glad that you have made this far, in reading this. 🙂 I would love to hear from you on how this blog has been helpful for you. That would definitely be an encouragement for me. Please drop a note here or comment below

5 lessons I learned through my sickness https://hisvoiceonline.com/lessons-learned-through-my-sickness/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/lessons-learned-through-my-sickness/#respond Mon, 05 Jun 2017 17:13:28 +0000 https://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=1648 Last week I was completely on bed rest because of fever. All throughout the last few months, I was running here and there, and finally God decided I should get some rest. Thank God for His mercy and grace. Through this resting period, I learned few interesting things. Let me share few of them with you.
5 lessons learned

Lesson #1: Nothing happens without God’s knowledge

When I was diagnosed with Dengue fever, I started to figure out how and when was the last time any mosquito bite me. I found out that it was in the railway station, last Sunday as I was coming back from a camp. Then worrying thoughts came: Oh I shouldn’t have gone there. I should have traveled at a different time (as I traveled at 3 am in the morning). I should have cancelled that program and so on.
godcaresI was supposed to travel to Hyderabad for my cousin’s wedding and also had plans to meet my friends at Hyderabad. But it was just one day before the travel date that I went down with flu. What a disaster! I thought within myself, “If only I had escaped that mosquito bite, I would have enjoyed the vacation at Hyderabad along with friends and relatives”
When I was being worried about all these, this verse came to my mind.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (Matt 10)

In other words, even a mosquito cannot bite us without our Father knowing about it. So I was rest assured that God was in perfect control.
Then another verse came to my aid:

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8: 28

This assurance gave me immense hope and confidence. I knew that God cares for us, and He is there to take care of us till the end of our lives. Yes, we have to be careful in taking precaution against diseases, but no matter how we try, only God can really protect us. So it is wise to trust in Him completely.
That was the first lesson: Nothing happens without His knowledge, and everything happens for a good reason, which we will come to know later.

Lesson #2 The sick really need a doctor

By this time, I got chance to meet 4 doctors within one week. Each time, I went to hospital, I was observing other patients and how the doctors were treating them.
sickew were really sick, some were even not able to stand. I could really witness the helplessness of people. Once a person becomes sick, all he wants is to get healing as soon as possible. That’s when I remembered this verse:

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2: 17

The beautiful service of a doctor becomes so precious to the patient that he follows all the instructions of the doctor diligently.
I observed one important thing: The patients and the bystanders were very attentive to the doctor that they were willing to do anything the doctor advises, so that they could be healed soon. The trust they had on doctors were great!
That’s when I understood what Jesus was referring to, in the second part of His statement: ” I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
If the patient really needs a doctor, then a sinner really needs the Spiritual Doctor Jesus. The moment a sinner bows down to heed the instruction of the Senior Doctor Jesus, God will start prescribing His unchanging plan of salvation, to the sinner and save him from the eternal virus called sin.
This reminded me that, each and every time, we kneel before God, we need to humble ourselves and trust God as He speaks to us, His precious Word of God. That’s when the true healing and divine peace fills our heart, soul and mind. It’s all about how humble we are to listen to His voice.

Lesson #3 Ultimate word of healing comes only from God

I was constantly worried about the complications of Dengue fever. I was terrified by the information available on internet regarding the after effects and all. I was bit worried. At the same time, I could hear a gentle whisper in my mind: My child, why are you worried? Am I not with you.
Many times we are quick to believe what the doctors say or what the report says. But let me give you one instance. My blood was taken for blood test, and was given to one Laboratory. They said, it would take 3 hours for results to come. So we went to another laboratory to give one blood sample for test, as they said, they can get the results even more faster. We had to consult the doctor with the results before he left. After few hours, we got the results from two labs. The results were shocking. Both had entirely two different values, even though blood was taken almost at the same time.doctor-2346235_1280
Then I told my parents, let’s do one thing. Next time, we will give the same sample to 3 or 4 labs and will take the average to confirm. 😛
I was reminded of the eternal Word of God, which does not change like the medical reports.

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away Matt 24: 35

God’s word changes not! So I trusted more on the Word of God.

for I am the Lord, who heals you

And He never disappointed me. After few days, did the test again in another laboratory. The result was Dengue NEGATIVE. I am totally healed.

“If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you

God is my healer! So don’t put your 100% trust in doctors. You can listen to their advice, but put your trust in God, who is capable of doing anything and everything.

Lesson #4 Do not allow the sickness to affect the mind

I asked the doctor: Doctor, when can I resume my work? She said, It all depends on how strong you are in your mind. If you think you are strong enough, then you can resume shortly!
MindThose words gave immense strength and confidence to my mind. She is the best doctor. The other 3 doctors were speaking more about medicines and dosages etc, but this doctor was speaking life into me.
We need to take utmost care not to lose hope. We need to guard our hearts and minds. Do not listen to the words of friends or relatives. They will try to console you, by scaring you more. But listen to God when you are sick. He will breathe living words into your heart which will make you strong and courageous.
Also one thing which I noticed was this: When I heard the result that I was completely dengue free, I quickly jumped out of bed. I felt even more stronger. Half of my tiredness flew away. How? This good news brought new hope to me. So I learned that it is all about the mind. Sickness can make us bed ridden, but if we guard our minds, it cannot touch our minds. We can continue remaining healthy in our minds.

Above all else, guard thy heart; for out of it flows the issues of life. Prov 4: 23

Lesson #5 Be thankful

Last but not the least, we need to be extra thankful for the great health, God has given us. It is absolutely FREE. The moment you get admitted in a hospital, you will notice that your bank balance decreases. Each and every thing demands money. That’s a fact. This should remind us of how great and valuable our health is. Sickness is a gentle reminder to be thankful to God.thankful
I started thanking God more and more, for the wonderful health He has given me. We need to be thankful to God for the money He has given us, so that we could get the best treatment; for our parents who took care of us; for the company managers who granted us sick leave; for the vehicle God has given us to reach hospital soon; for the strength to wait for the doctor etc. There are a lot of things to be thankful for. Count your blessings in your bed, and God will be pleased with your attitude of gratitude and reward you with more health, peace and happiness.
Now, let me declare to you that I am perfectly alright. From tomorrow onwards, I am back to work. Thank you Jesus.

10 things to remember as you get ready for the FINAL examination https://hisvoiceonline.com/getting-ready-for-the-final-examination/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/getting-ready-for-the-final-examination/#respond Tue, 26 Jan 2016 00:30:23 +0000 https://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=936 By now, you might have got your exam Time Tables (most of the exams start on first week of March for Kerala and All-India Board Examinations, isn’t it?). Some of you may be anxious about the upcoming board examination. There are more than 30 days left. I would like to give you few tips in getting ready for the examination.
GettingReady

1. Get your study environment ready

The first step to get ready for an intensive revision is to set up a proper study environment, which includes a clean study table, chair, notebooks, pens etc. Here are few steps

  1. Clean your room and arrange the things neatly (A clean environment will boost your concentration and energy level)
  2. Set a proper time and place for study
  3. Let your parents and siblings be informed that you are preparing for the final exam, and you need privacy (ask your mom not to call you for help, while you are studying. You can help them after the exam. Kidding! :P)
  4. Preferably find a place/time where there is less distraction
  5. Avoid TV or computer or any gadgets which may distract you
  6. Get your textbooks, notes ready
  7. Take a print of the time-table and the syllabus
  8. Place a clock or a time piece on your table.
  9. Keep a bottle of water ready (some fruits, nuts or something to eat in between)
  10. Avoid going to friend’s house for combine study (If you really have revised completely, and have enough time left, then you go and disturb them :P)
  11. Take a good shower before you start your studies
  12. Do pray well, read Bible and ask God for wisdom, intelligence to prepare well (Remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom)
  13. Finally, a special request to you (Read my previous post here)

2. Don’t worry about the past

Some of you may be regretting over the past, that you were not able to prepare well over the last few months. But let me tell you, that you really don’t have to waste this time thinking over the past. Now you have 30+ days left. Still you can make it! Believe me, that this 30 days, if you really prepare well, you can get a good score.

3. Plan for the rest of the days

You might think, you will never be able to follow a time-table, since you have already tried many times to make a time-table and follow it, but failed! But let me tell you, that a proper time-table for these last 30 days will really help you!
Follow the below steps

  1. First calculate how many days are left for the examination
  2. Check how many hours you can dedicate for studies every day
  3. Multiply the days X number of hours per day
  4. Now you will get the total number of hours you have for studies
  5. Make sure, you give proper time for food, sleep, school model exams if any and for relaxation
  6. Don’t stress too much, set realistic plans
  7. Plan more number of hours for studies during the weekends.
  8. Now allocate the number of hours (or number of days) for each subject
  9. May be you can give more time for the tough subjects or the exams which doesn’t have a study holiday in-between
  10. Make sure you give proper time for revision (Revision is important! I’ ll explain below)
  11. Finally put this into a chart or calendar or take a print of the time-table.

4. Why time-table is important?

If you fail to plan, you are planning for failure.

I will tell you how time-table for revision will be useful. When you start planning, you will get an idea on the number of days left and the volume of syllabus to be covered in revision. This will give you a heads up on how intensively you need to prepare. The idea here, is not to follow the time-table strictly, but to help you get a clear picture on the way forward till the day of exam. This will help you to get back to studies, even if you get into some distractions in the middle of the month.
If you don’t have a time-table, and if you think you can manage the rest of the month without proper planning, by the time you complete one subject, you will find yourself too close to the examination day. It will be too late then, to start revising other important subjects.
Therefore, plan well in advance. Try your best to stick to the time-table. Even if you are unable to follow it, don’t worry. Something is better than nothing!

5. Prepare Formula sheets

As you are writing science subjects, you will have to remember lot of formulas and equations. So I suggest you to make a chart of all the formulas you need to learn by heart in a particular subject.
I will tell you how to make the chart of formulas.

  1. Buy a big chart paper (preferably different color sheets).
  2. Divide it into 4 equal pieces or 2 equal parts.
  3. Write all the formulas of a particular subject into one of the sheets. By doing this, make sure, you fit all the formulas of each subjects into various separate sheets respectively. Based on the number of equations/formulas, you can decide on the size of the sheet.
  4. Then, pin the charts to one set, make it like a calendar and hang it somewhere
  5. Revise the formulas every day or in whatever frequency you want to set.

After you are done with writing all the formulas from all subjects, your mind will be relaxed, thinking that, “Yes, I need to study only this much, say for example, 8 sheets”. Now the concept of entire textbook got reduced to 8 sheets. This itself will help you get rid of the stress.  During the examination, you will be able to recollect the image of the sheet in your memory.

6. Why revision is important?

Even if you study the whole syllabus once, if you don’t revise, it will be very difficult to remember the entire syllabus in the examination hall. Revision of the subjects already learned will help you to recollect easily, which will help you to perform well. Revision gives you a confidence to attempt variety of questions related to the topic you have learnt.

7. How to do revision?

Here are some things you need to make note of, while doing the revision (If you are already practicing some other form of revision, no need to read the points below. These are for students, who really need a help to get started with revision). Revision can be divided into two phases –Revision during the study holidays and Revision before the day of examination.

  1. When you revise during the study holidays, you can refer all the guides, textbooks, tuition notes etc and write the important notes into an A4 sheet or another special note-book (preferably long book- each page can contain a lot of information, which will help you get an idea of many topics at a single glance).
  2. Remember that we are making these short notes mainly for the previous day of examination, therefore it should be very short and precise
  3. When you do the final revision on the previous day of the exam, you can have a quick revision of these short notes, and in case of any doubt, you can refer the textbooks etc. Also, if you have already revised many times, then you can quickly go through the pages of the textbooks, guides, notebooks, which you have already revised.

8. While making notes

You can use color pens, RED for Headings, BLACK for writing points, GREEN for marking/underlining/drawing margins, again RED for marking important concepts, BLUE for additional markups. This will make your notes colorful and interesting to prepare. Use scale/pencil if you have time. Human brain captures colorful images easily.
Here is a snap of a page of the notebook of one of my friends 🙂 [Biology]
Biology

9. Don’t worry about how others are preparing

There is a natural tendency to get worried by thinking how well your friends are preparing. But let me tell you, that there is really no need to be anxious about it. When it comes to board examination, there is no need for competition. If you answer a question correctly, you may get maximum score for that question. Unlike competitive exams, such as Entrance Exam, there is no negative marking. Therefore, it is not going to affect your marks, even if your friend scores more or less. Your only focus should be to do your best in the examination.

10. There is no need to worry about the ‘impression of the teacher about you’

Especially students who are not great performers in the class, will have a prejudice in mind, that the teacher would not give full marks, knowing that the student is not a good/bright student. This is a false assumption.
Also, you can be sure that, the one who evaluates your answer paper, will definitely not know you personally. So, it is purely based on how well you perform in your answer paper, which determines your score.
If, it was your class model exam, then there is a chance that he/she already has an impression about you, which can indirectly affect your mind as you write the examination. But, since this is a board exam, you can be confident that, if you perform well in your answer sheet, you can definitely score good marks, and there is absolutely no need to worry about the so-called ‘impression about you’.
During my 10th standard model exam for Mathematics, I scored 17.5 marks out of 50. I was not so good in Mathematics, also that question paper was very tough. My teacher scolded me and asked me to study well. So I decided to study well for the final exam, and worked really hard. Wrote all the important equations in a notebook, and practiced the model exam questions. And my score was 49 out of 50, in the final examination. Therefore, let me tell you from my personal experience, that your model exam marks has nothing to do with your final exam. Only thing which matters is how you perform during the examination.
And it depends on how well you write your answers. I will cover this topic on How to write the exam and how to impress the examiner? in the coming posts. Stay tuned!
All the best for your examination. If you have any queries, please feel free to send your questions here.

Special request to students preparing for Board Exams this Feb-Mar 2016! https://hisvoiceonline.com/special-request-to-students/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/special-request-to-students/#comments Tue, 19 Jan 2016 00:30:11 +0000 https://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=923 Hello friends who are preparing for various board exams and entrance exams.
Students
Please take these words seriously.
Keep a check on the time you spend for WhatsApp and Facebook. If it is a distraction for your studies, please do something about it. Either keep all unimportant groups/conversations on mute and check messages when you are really bored after studying OR uninstall/deactivate WhatsApp/Facebook for 2 months. Dedicate your best time for God and studies. You will have your friends always with you. You will get enough time to socialize even after exams. But this time is really precious. Only one month left. So be serious in your studies and preparations.
This period of time, from January- February (60 days) is very crucial and you will never get it back. Even one second is precious. So make use of the time wisely, study properly and score well. Your career and future is in one way, dependent on the marks you score, since it is a highly competitive world.
If you don’t score well in your exams, your parents will be in trouble. They will have to go around, applying to various schools, begging the principal and the management for getting admission. They will have to spend lot of money to arrange for your admission. So why trouble them in their old age? If you have good marks, then you can easily apply for your desired course in your desired college/school. Isn’t it great?
So, all you need to do is to study well and do your best, then leave the rest to God. Then, in the worst case, if marks are still less, don’t worry. You will never regret, since you did your best. God will help you to get good admission.
So please get away from all social media or anything which takes away your precious time, for atleast 2 months, till the exams are over. You can enjoy during your vacation which follows, but now please pray and work hard. There is no shortcut to success.
Now it’s not too late. You still have one more month left to study new topics and prepare well. There are lot of topics to study and lot to remember. So make use of this time to read more and make notes. Make a timetable and plan accordingly. Get in touch with your teachers for doubts or seek help from good and bright students. Read the text books thoroughly. Write notes and keep it handy for the last day revision.
This is not to scare you, but to help you. You can do well. All the very best. Take care of your health. God bless you.

7 things to remember as you celebrate this Christmas (A gift inside!) https://hisvoiceonline.com/this-christmas-2015/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/this-christmas-2015/#comments Wed, 23 Dec 2015 20:00:02 +0000 https://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=824 So, all set for the the Christmas day?Remember
What is the first thing which comes to your mind when you hear about Christmas? Is it about holidays, enjoying with family and friends? or about the pictures of Santa Claus, baloons, stars, manger etc? or Christmas Carols, greeting cards, gifts etc? Yes, it’s a great season and we have a great reason to celebrate. Here are few things which you need to remember during this Christmas, which can help you celebrate Christmas in a meaningful way

1. Remember to invite ‘Jesus’ for His birthday party

Yes, Jesus is the reason for the season. And it is the birth of Jesus and the life of Jesus which brings meaning to Christmas, and He is the source of joy, happiness and eternal peace for the entire humanity. So don’t forget to invite Him for ‘His’ birthday party.

2. Remember that Jesus is present with you always

Just imagine, how exciting and amazing it would be to celebrate the birthday of a great person who lived a long time ago, and is present with us? Yes, this is true with Jesus. He is present with you all the time, even as you celebrate this Christmas.

3. Remember the ‘Person’ than the day

I am not sure whether it was 25th of December, that Jesus Christ was born, because the Bible doesn’t record a date as such. But one thing is sure, that a man named Jesus Christ was born into this world around 2000 years ago and He is an historical figure. The date really doesn’t matter but the ‘person’ matters!

4. Remember the meaning of the word ‘Jesus’

The word Jesus literally means, “one who saves people from sins”. In other words, the Savior. Jesus can save you from all your sins and can make you a better person. Isn’t it amazing?

5. Remember the life of Jesus

  1. He existed even before his birth (which means His birth was not the beginning of His existence)
  2. His birth was an incarnation of God
  3. He is known as the Son of God
  4. His birth was unique that he was born of a virgin
  5. His teachings were simple and had a great moral standard
  6. He never faulted in words, thoughts or deeds. Indeed He was a perfect man.
  7. His life was simple and he associated mostly with the common people
  8. He taught his disciples more about God, Heaven and the love of God (Because He came from God)
  9. He is the only person who came back to life to live for ever (Because He is God)
  10. He healed the sick, raised the dead and gave peace and happiness to many
  11. He did numerous miracles and the miracles were to help the poor and needy
  12. His death was a sacrifice and He died for the sins of the whole world
  13. He saves people from eternal hell and eternal damnation
  14. He went back to Heaven, from where He came and promised to come back again
  15. He will come back one day to take His people to Heaven
  16. He lives even today and is present near you as you read this
  17. He can give new meaning and hope to anybody in this world irrespective of caste, gender or religion.

To read more about story of Jesus, read the New Testament books of the Holy Bible.gift
I would like to gift you a free copy of the Bible (New Testament) as a Christmas gift. Click here to order your free copy.

6. Remember that Jesus can give you a new hope and new beginning

When Christ was born into this world, the world history got divided into two – BC and AD. The Bible says, that the people in darkness saw a great light. The people who invited Jesus into their lives, changed into good people. He became a source of happiness for the hurting, suffering and the lost humanity.
Jesus changed the existing law and set a higher moral standard. Jesus taught to love those that hate you and to do good to those who ill treat you. Yes, He taught us to love and proved to the world that love can change the world. Above all, he saved people from sins.
So during this Christmas, you have a great hope for a new beginning.

7. Remember to invite Jesus into ‘your’ life

As you celebrate Christmas this year, with your family and friends, remember to invite ‘Jesus’ into your personal life and He will be born into your life and that will be a turning point in your life. If Jesus could change the entire history of the world, He can change yours too. Then you will have a reason to celebrate Christmas every day of the year.
All you need to do is to believe Jesus and invite Him to come to your life. Pray this simple prayer sincerely.
Jesus, I know that you were born into this world 2000 years ago. I believe that you died for my sins too. Forgive me and make me a new person. Come into my life and give me a new beginning and new life. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord. Amen.
If you have prayed that simple prayer, believing in your heart, Jesus has heard your prayer and has come into your life. All the best for this wonderful journey with Jesus. I would like to know your experience, please click this link and send your feedback.

Do not believe the Media https://hisvoiceonline.com/do-not-believe-the-media/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/do-not-believe-the-media/#comments Tue, 29 Sep 2015 00:30:21 +0000 https://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=532 If you want to be a better person in heart, this is one of the most important decisions you should probably take, that is, not to blindly believe what the media reports. Let me tell you why!
Media2

What we “hear and see” is definitely gonna affect us!

I have observed many people who are addicted to the news media and their life is driven by it. In fact media controls them. I have learned few interesting lessons from them. In this post, I would like to share few thoughts on this especially in regard to the negative or wrong information spreading around. I agree that media has many advantages and I am not against media. You are reading this post because of one of the advantages of media. But in this post I would like to point out few important things we should consider in this information age. Hope you will take it in the right sense.
Definition of Media
Before I proceed further, let me give you the definition of Media.

Media is a channel through which information comes to you.

It can be WhatsApp, the Newspaper, Magazine, Radio, YouTube, Blogs, News Channels or even some person. Technology has helped media to advance in such a way that within a few seconds any information can be sent to anyone in any part of this globe.
To believe means

to accept that (something) is true, especially without proof OR to accept the statement of (someone) as true [Oxford Dictionary]

Look at the things happening around the world. Many times we are quick to believe what media says. Media does not give a second chance to think. People tend to believe blindly what the media reports! This is extremely dangerous. What we see and hear from media is definitely going to change the way we think and act!

What happened to this couple?

Before getting on to the news and other media around us let me give you an example from the life of a couple.
This couple got married and after one year, the husband went to a foreign country for a job assignment. He used to call his wife often and share everything and their relationship grew closer. He was very faithful to her and she knew him very well. Once or twice every year, the husband comes to his homeland to be with his wife and they were living happily. This went on for many years. One day, one of his so-called friend sent few messages to his wife’s mobile that he was going after some other woman in that foreign land.
Now tell me what the wife was supposed to do?
This is an information which got transferred from another country to her mobile through some technology. I call this, media. Should she believe the media? Based on her belief in that particular information, the destiny of the family is going to be decided. If she believes that information blindly, that family is going to collapse within few moments, especially when her husband calls her next time.
So don’t you think that information has got such power even to destroy a family life?
Now you may be curious to know what happened with this family.
As I know this couple very well, let me tell you what happened. That wife simply decided not to believe that SMS (or that Media) but to trust her husband because she knew that her husband would never do such a thing. She presented this matter before the Lord in prayer. This so-called friend who tried to destroy his friend’s family couldn’t do any harm because of the brave move of this lady. She took a wise step not even to ask him about this matter, which would have affected their relationship in some way or the other. What I learned from this incident is this – DO NOT BLINDLY BELIEVE THE MEDIA!
Now you may think what if the friend said was true? My personal suggestion is this. Do not blindly believe but simply wait and pray! Have faith in God! God is in control when you trust in Him. She should continue being faithful, and even if he was not faithful, he may come back to her later, by seeing her faithfulness. Love and trust has got such tremendous power.
I remember a beautiful proverbs from the Bible

The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1

There are lot of complications which can happen because of this simple faith in this media called SMS. Maybe we can discuss issues like this in another post.
Let me come back to our point Do not believe the media. Below are few things to consider.

The first response matters

Don’t quickly share any information in Facebook or YouTube or forward it in WhatsApp groups or in any other mass media. First think about the authentictiy of the matter. If you are not sure of it, please don’t share it with anyone. How can you be sure of an information? It takes time to prove. So better stop spreading wrong information, thus creating chaos in the community. Instead, spread some good thoughts and valuable information. Remember, you can never withdraw a forwarded WhatsApp message or an email sent. So never LIKE or SHARE or COMMENT on it in Facebook or other mass media if you are not sure of that particular information.
Note this Proverbs

He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. Proverbs 17:27, 28

Ignore if it doesn’t matter to you much

You might have heard news about a family matter or a corrupt government or some other sensitive news. Do not believe it quickly. Instead try to ignore it if it doesn’t affect you much. Why take all the issues going on in this world to your head? It would be wise to use that time for something creative. Teach your children some good songs, learn a new musical instrument, clean the house, or do something useful instead of switching channels one by one to know all the details of what’s going around.

Are you sure it actually happened?

Some people start commenting as if they witnessed the incident.
Even though we know that media need not be true always, we tend to quickly believe what it reports, isn’t it? Especially news channels and other similar media, when it reports an incident or an issue, we quickly tend to start discussing it with our family and friends as if it were true. It is good to know what’s happening but let us wait before we make a comment because unless you have a valid proof you can never say it’s true.

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23

Do not spoil the mind of your children

If you constantly discuss these matters reported by the media in front of your children, they may soon loose their innocence. You may never know the damage you are causing your future generation. Young minds are very sharp. So set a good example in front of your children.
This is what Jesus told about causing little children to stumble

If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. Mark 9:42

Therefore, teach your children to take the good out of media and to ignore what is not important. This way, you can train your children to think positively.

You are responsible for your words

People are so curious to know what really happened and they cannot wait to tell others of what they heard. Especially if it is a negative news, then it spreads more faster. Slowly it becomes a discussion and you start gossiping even without your knowledge. Never gossip about anything to anyone because it it will adversely affect relationships and even destroy the community as a whole.
Let’s remember these words of Jesus

But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matt 12: 36, 37

So let’s use our words wisely as we need to give an explanation for all our words to God one day!

What if it was wrong information?

We never saw what happened. We saw only what the media reported. Media can also go wrong sometimes. Later it will be proved. But if we have already spoken or discussed many things based on that wrong information, it will be too late to revert the damage caused by your words or discussion. So better wait till the truth is revealed.

Do not spoil the reputation

You may have heard something bad about a famous personality. Do not be quick to spread the information around without knowing the actual truth. You are actually destroying their reputation in media. If you are an acceptable person in society, people who are following you will soon believe what you shared because of your reputation. But later when the actual truth is revealed and you come to know that it was a fake information, then your reputation is also spoiled. So why cause a lot of confusion? Better wait and get all the facts right before making a statement about something which you are not sure of.
Let’s remember this words of Jesus,

Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the same way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured back to you. Matt 7:1,2

Do not be driven by the information in Media

Since media has lot of influence in our society, they can decide the course of direction of a nation or a community. But atleast we should never allow the media to control our thoughts or our family or our community. I am not sure whether this is possible to be implemented on a national scale, but atleast we can try implementing this in our close circle (our family, friends or community). Let us become a role model for others. Let us not spread the evil from media.

When you change, you can influence your family and your society.

Above all else ‘guard’ your heart

As a child of God, be careful of what you absorb into your mind. Media is good in many ways but also has the power to corrupt innocent minds and hearts.
Therefore as the Bible says,

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23

which means, to keep an eye on what we take in. It can change the way we think, the way we speak and ofcourse our course of action. So think twice before believing what the media tells us.
What are the other issues which arises when we blindly believe the media? Please share your opinion in the comments section below.

God creates and Science Discovers https://hisvoiceonline.com/god-creates-and-science-discovers/ https://hisvoiceonline.com/god-creates-and-science-discovers/#comments Tue, 22 Sep 2015 00:30:07 +0000 https://hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/?p=476 I remember the story of a scientist talking to God.
God_Science

God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him,

“Lord, we don’t need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning.”

“Oh, is that so?” asks God.

“Well,” says the scientist, “we can take dust and form it into the likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man.”

“Well, that’s interesting. Show me.”

So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.

“Oh no, no, no…” interrupts God, “Get your own dust.”

In this post I would like to share few thoughts on this phrase – God creates and Science discovers. I think it’s true.
Before I explain, let me tell you that I am not against science but a science student and I love science. This post is not for a debate, but to share few of my thoughts on Creation and Discovery. Even if you are a person who does not believe in creation or God, you may still find something useful in this post. Hope you will enjoy reading and remember to share your views in the comment section!

Difference between Discover and Create

Let me start with the definition of the word Create and Discover.
According to oxford dictionary, to create means, to bring (something) into existence.
If I take the definition from the Bible, to create means to to bring (something) into existence from nothing. Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. (Romans 4:17b)
And to discover means, to find some information about something.

Discovery and Invention

Now let’s come to the phrase Science discovers. All the scientific inventions are some sort of discovery, isn’t it?
If we take the example of invention of computer, no scientist ever created a computer, did they? (based on the definition above, i.e. to bring (something) into existence from nothing)
But what the scientists did is this- they discovered the required components of the computer and invented the machine using technology. For instance, they discovered something called electrons. They didn’t create electrons out of nothing but discovered them in an atom, which already existed. If you are a science student you may understand what I am trying to explain. Then scientists discovered that when the electrons flow, it causes an electric field which is called electricity. Again that’s not a creation but a discovery. Then they found out that electrical energy can be stored in a substance which is called capacitor. Again capacitor is not a creation but a discovery and invention. And it went on to lot many discoveries.
Finally in 1940’s, after lot of research and hard work, the first hand made computer ENIAC came into existence. (combination of 17,468 vacuum tubes, 7200 crystal diodes, 1500 relays, 70,000 resistors, 10,000 capacitors and approximately 5,000,000 hand-soldered joints Ref: Wikipedia). This first computer was invented with the help of all these items which already existed. The technology was invented due to the researches done by the scientists over the past centuries.
Therefore, none of the above discoveries or inventions were created out of nothing but with the help of existing things and using the technology. Same is the case with any other invention of this world – machines, computers, buildings, electricity, vehicles, etc. Even the variety of food we eat, all are a combination of what grows on plants and trees, and from animals.
Everything is a discovery or an invention but NOT a creation as per the definition above.

There is beauty and a wonderful design in nature

Now let’s come to the next phrase God creates.
Some call it as nature which gave us all! Whatever it may be, we have to agree upon the fact that this world and the nature has a beautiful and perfect design. The only possible argument may be whether there exists a person called God who created all these or whether all things were already in place since thousands of years. Since this post is not to discuss about the existence of God, I park this topic for now, but I want to stress the point that there exists a beautiful design in the nature around us.
Look at how your body is functioning and how the different organs of your body are placed. What if the organs were misplaced, like eyes in the place of ears, and nose in the place of mouth?  You have two wonderful 3D cameras placed on your face. Do you know that no camera in this world can capture images as perfectly as your eyes? Look at the sky, the sun, the moon and the stars, how they function to provide times and the seasons; the clouds which gives us rain and how it protects us from the heat of the sun; the trees which gives us fresh air and food; the birds in the sky, how they fly and the list goes on…
If you start observing the things around you, you can see that there exists a beautiful design for everything and the most interesting fact is that most of the inventions are ideas obtained from nature.

Nature contributed most of the amazing ideas

If you look at the aeroplane, the idea of flying came from the way birds fly; the idea of camera might have come from the human eyes, how the eyes focus an object and sends signal to the brain. (focal point and the type of lens); the idea of man-made satellite should have come from the way moon and the planets revolve (planetary motion and the other laws concerning motion);  the idea of computer might have come from the way human brain functions, how it stores information and processes it and controls other parts of the body and so on.
In short, most of the ideas came from nature. Right?
Sir Isaac Newton stated,

The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being.

Real source of the ideas

Think for a moment. We usually appreciate the scientists for the discoveries and inventions. Yes, I was also amazed at the way how technical things work, but my point is this – which is the real source of all these amazing ideas?
For time being, let’s assume, if there is a person who is behind all these ideas, don’t you think this person is the one who should get all the credit? And if the person is God??

Who helped the scientists?

Well, you might think, even if God was the one who created all raw materials for scientists to work on (based on the assumption that God exists), it is still the scientists who invented or discovered them. So the credit should go to the scientists.
My argument is this – you say that scientists invented it. Yes, I agree, but who gave them the wisdom, knowledge and the intelligence, without which, I believe, they would have never invented great things.
In Bible, we read the story of the Tower of Babel in the first book of the Bible (Genesis 11:1-9)
Up until this point in the Bible, the whole world had one language – one common speech for all people. The people of the earth became skilled in construction and decided to build a city with a tower that would reach to heaven. By building the tower they wanted to make a name for themselves and also prevent their city from being scattered.
God came to see their city and the tower they were building. He perceived their intentions, and in His infinite wisdom, He knew this “stairway to heaven” would only lead the people away from God. He noted the powerful force within their unity of purpose. As a result, God confused their language, causing them to speak different languages so they would not understand each other. By doing this, God thwarted their plans. He also scattered the people of the city all over the face of the earth.
From this story, we understand that if God is against our so called discovery and inventions, we would never achieve anything. At the same time, with the help of God, anything and everything is possible.
So I strongly believe that the scientists who had achieved great things should have received their help from God. I have heard that many scientists who contributed to science believed in God. To name a few,
Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) – contributed to the study of Solar System,
Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) – contributed to Mathematics,
Isaac Newton (1642-1727) – contributed to optics, mechanics, mathematics and many other branches of science,
Michael Faraday (1791-1867) – His work on electricity and magnetism not only revolutionized physics, but led to much of our lifestyles today, which depends on them (including computers and telephone lines and, so, web sites)
and many more scientists like Nicholas Copernicus (1473-1543), Johannes Kepler (1571-1630). You may read more here.

Few queries

If God had helped them, why then did it take these many centuries for the scientists to invent all these advanced technologies ? God should have given them intelligence, wisdom and knowledge thousands of years ago, so that they could have invented all these long back.
There are three things to note here-
Firstly, even if God had given them all the required knowledge, they could have never invented anything because it would take lot of time for human brain to understand the science behind the creation. Human beings did not have the enough capability to do research and to find out all these.
Secondly, for doing research, lot of other technologies and inventions needed to be in place. So God had to wait for centuries for human beings to learn and understand the logic behind his creation.
Thirdly, human lifespan is around 100 years. In this lifespan it is impossible to learn and achieve everything.
Do you think it was possible for scientists to invent things without the help of God?
I doubt that! Even if they didn’t believe in God, God would have still given them the required knowledge, wisdom and intelligence to invent things, because it was also God’s plan that technology should be invented.
What I personally believe is this- Science is never against God, and vice versa. In fact science helps us understand how great God is! We wouldn’t have known the greatness of God without the advancement of science. So let’s research more and learn science that we may understand the works of God. It’s fair to give God the due credit!
Personally speaking, I am really thankful to God for helping me study few of the basics of science, which helped me increase my faith in God. Thanks to all my teachers who taught me science.
I remember a verse from the Bible (from Psalms 19:1)

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Let me summarize

  • Human beings can never create anything out of nothing
  • There is a beautiful, intelligent and perfect design in nature
  • Most of the interesting ideas came from the things of nature
  • We get to know all these by learning science
  • All these studies points to the fact that there should be a designer who is behind all these
  • If that designer is God, then we can say – God creates and science discovers

A bit about me

I am a Software Engineer by profession, and currently working for a Multinational Company based in India.

I am passionate about teaching. I love it! I first realized it during my school days, when I first took a class and it was on a Teacher’s day, while I was in 10th Grade. We were all given a chance to take class for the small children and I was assigned to take a one hour lecture on one of the topics in Biology (my favorite subject) for 5th grade students. I prepared well, took my first class and found great satisfaction when I delivered the information to the kids. From then on I grabbed every opportunity ahead of me, be it a seminar or lecture or even preaching and teaching in our small church.

My hometown is Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, India. As I now write this post, I am presently residing in Malaysia where I have been sent on an assignment from my company. During my free time I read books, play musical instruments and spend time with my Lord.

And what this blog is all about?

As I mentioned earlier, my passion is teaching and I want to use this blog as a tool to share with you what I have experienced and learned in my life.
