How God glorified His Name Through Life of Daniel (Malayalam Audio Sermon)

This meditation is from the Book of Daniel, Chapter 6. In the previous chapter King Belshazzar. “That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain, and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two” (Daniel 5: 30,31) King Darius took over.

In Daniel 6, we read about how King Darius He appoints 120 rulers and 3 Administrators. Daniel was one of the administrators. Daniel was promoted by God. It is the Lord who promotes us.“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalms 75: 6,7). Then King again promotes Daniel above the administrators. The administrators now had to report to Daniel and Daniel to the King, because possessed an excellent spirit.

Now the admins and the rulers tries to find fault with Daniel because they were jealous of him. When we remain faithful in our Christian journey, satan works Day and night to accuse the people of God. “For the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down from this place, where he stood before our God accusing them day and night.” (Rev 12:10). Remember! The devil works in the people around us, to find fault with us and to put us down. But never give place to him. This is how we have to silence our accusers: By doing good! “For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.” (I Peter 2: 15). Daniel was faithful. “They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.” (Daniel 6:4).

Finally they tried to find a way to trap him with the law of God in whom Daniel believed. And they went to the Kind and devised a decree to put to den all those who pray to any other god than the king. When Daniel knew this, he went home to pray. He started thanking the Lord and gave petition to the Lord. Daniel was in authority. He could have gone to the King, but he went to the King of kings. “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in prince” (Ps 118: 8,9) Daniel decided to handle this situation in prayer.

Now his accusers found him praying and went to the King to charge against Daniel by saying he was found praying to his God. King tried his best to save Daniel but couldn’t as he already has signed the decree. Finally Daniel was put in the lion’s den. King lost his sleep. Early morning, king goes to the den and calls out Daniel. Daniel answers and says, my God sent angel to shut the lion’s mouth. Even the king could not save him, but the King of kings could. People cannot help us when we are in trouble, only the Lord can! Therefore let us put our trust in God. Daniel trusted in God.

Finally King glorified our great God by issuing a decree.

Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every languagein all the earth: “May you prosper greatly!

²⁶“I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.

“For he is the living God
    and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
    his dominion will never end.
²⁷He rescues and he saves;
    he performs signs and wonders
    in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
    from the power of the lions.”

²⁸So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian. (Daniel 6: 25-28)

The story ends with God’s Name being glorified. Yes, that’s our goal. Whatever happens in our lives, if we remain faithful to God, He will glorify His name through our lives.

We often wait for God to answer our prayers to start thanking the Lord. But if we really believe that God has heard our prayers and if we trust God to answer us at the right time, then why don’t we start thanking God right away?
God loves a heart filled with gratitude and lips full of thanksgiving and praises to His Name.

And through him let us offer sacrifices of praise always to God, which is the fruit of the lips giving thanks to his name. (Hebrews 13: 15)

As we draw near the Holy of holies, let us continually offer praises to the Lord.
When you worship the Lord, what comes to your mind? Thoughts of love, praises and thanksgiving? Do you love the Lord so much that you can’t wait to express your gratitude towards Him? Pour out your mind, say
Thank you, Jesus. You are great. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for hearing my prayers, and so on. Don’t stop. Keep praising Him.
Convert your worries, anxieties, concerns, complaints into thanksgiving and praises. For example, if you have lost your job, still you can praise Him, but how? Let me show you an example.
Say, Lord, I lost my job, but I know that in the end, you will turn all things for my good. I am thankful to you for helping me to work and earn in the past months and years. Thank you for giving me a small break before getting into a new job. Thank you for providing enough time now so that I can use this time to study Your Word and pray. Thank you for giving me time to focus on improving myself. Thank you for allowing me to experience the pain of losing the job and empathize with thousands who lost their job. I trust you that you will not close a door without opening another better door for me.
Don’t you think, God will be much pleased with you when your prayers are filled with hope, faith and trust?
Let us pray.
Father, in Jesus’ Name we come near your presence. We thank you and praise you. We trust that you do all things for our good. We love you. We give you all glory, honour and praise. In Jesus’ Name, we pray amen.
We have learned today on the third step into the holy of holies. In the next episode, we will learn of the blessings we will receive as we confess, worship and praise God in the holy of holies.

Now that we have learned how to confess our sins and become holy through the blood of Jesus, let us learn the next important thing to do, being present in the holy of holies.

In the intro episode, we learned that there is a place called Holy of holies, which is the presence of the High God. We learned that we can walk in at any time because Jesus opened a way for us to get in. In the previous episode, we learned that it is mandatory to become holy in order to be in His presence. So we approach his throne confessing our sins and God will make us pure and holy. Now that we are already in the holy of holies, what are we supposed to do?
Let us begin by reading a passage from the Bible.

The Holy Spirit uses this to show that the way into the Most Holy Place was not open while the system of the old Holy Tent was still being used. This is an example for the present time. It shows that the gifts and sacrifices offered cannot make the conscience of the worshiper perfect. Heb 9: 8,9

This is a reference to the old way of worshipping God before Jesus came to this world. There was a physical place of worship, which had the holy of holies, a copy of the actual holy of holies in heaven. From this verse, we get a hint that the people came there to worship God.
This clearly points us to the truth that God expects worship from us as we draw near to His presence.
So what is the second step? We have to worship God. In simple terms, worship means, you are acknowledging the fact God is supreme and Almighty and giving him the due reverence. It is like falling down before His throne and surrendering yourselves to God. It is by saying, God, you are the King. I am your servant. My life is for you.
Feel free to express your reverence and adoration to God. Express yourselves, and talk to God and surrender everything to God.
Try my friend, it is an amazing experience, to be in the holy of holies worshipping the true God Almighty.
Now, what are you waiting for? You are already in the holy of holies. Just open up yourselves and submit yourselves completely to God. God is well pleased when you worship Him.
Let us pray.
Father, we come to your presence in the Name of Jesus. We worship you. We adore you. You are my Lord and Saviour. In Jesus’ Name, we pray Amen.

(Podcast) Entrance into the Holy of Holies | First Step: God makes you holy (#2)

When you scrolled through the FB page, have you seen something obscene? You know what? If you think about a girl with lustful thoughts, you have already sinned in your mind. If you have become angry with your dear ones and said something hurtful, you have already sinned. As you pray in the holy of holies, begin by confessing all the sins you remember, that’s when the blood of Jesus makes you holy.
Welcome back to the second part of the series “Entrance into the holy of holies”. To listen to the previous episodes, visit hisvoiceonline-com.stackstaging.com/listen. Stay tuned.
In the previous episode, we learned that there is a place called Holy of holies, the place where God is seated, and we also realised we could walk in to the Holy Place at any time. Today let us focus on the first and foremost thing we must do as we draw near to His presence.
Let us begin by reading the same Bible passage we read in the previous episode. It is from the Book of Hebrews Chapter 10 verses 19 to 22.

So, brothers and sisters, we are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place without fear because of the blood of Jesus’ death. We can enter through a new and living way that Jesus opened for us. It leads through the curtain—Christ’s body. And since we have a great priest over God’s house, ²²let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, because we have been made free from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

God is holy. He is dwelling in the holy of holies. As we approach his presence, the first thing to do is to be cleansed of all unholiness. Bible calls it sin. Sin is anything wrong we do, think or say, according to the standards of the holy God. Therefore, how is it possible to go near His presence with the sins that we have done?
Do not be discouraged. You don’t have to become holy to approach God, but as you approach God, He will make you holy. But how? We are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place without fear because of the blood of Jesus’ death. Which means since Jesus Christ died for our sins, when we feel sorry for what we have done, and confess our sins, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins and make us holy.
My friend, do you feel unholy? God accepts you as you are. Jesus freely gave forgiveness to the thief on the cross. Jesus forgave Peter, who denied him thrice.
Now is the time. As you draw near the holy of holies, let us confess our sins. Jesus, I did so and so, I said so and so, I thought so and so. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Wash me with your precious blood and make me holy.
Your heart and mind will be free from a guilty conscience, and you will be able to see and hear God clearly.
Shall we pray?
Father, in Jesus’ name, I come near your presence. I have sinned in my words, thoughts and deeds. Please forgive and make me clean with your blood that was shed on the cross for me. Make me holy. In Jesus’ Name, we pray Amen.

(Podcast) NEW Series: Entrance into the Holy of Holies (#1)

My dear friend. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Here is one very important reason for you to put a joyful face today. The Lord has made this day, which means, you are alive today because God has granted you one more day. Yesterday is gone, there is no point in regretting over the past. Tomorrow is not yet available, so you don’t know what’s for you tomorrow. But today is definitely yours. Take one day at a time. The Lord promised that He will be with you all the days of your life, so Jesus Christ is with you as you listen to this podcast.
Today, I want to prayerfully start a new podcast series, which I would like to title “Entrance Into the Holy of Holies”. What do you mean by Holy of Holies? It is the place where God is seated. It is the place where Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven. Is it possible for human beings to come near that place? Absolutely yes! It is an awesome experience. I really want you to experience it. It is so real that you will be in a different world, you will forget everything else. It is just an aeroplane taking off. You see trees, vehicles, buildings as it is, when you are on the runway. But as soon as the flight takes off, everything else seems to become small. And you will reach high above in the skies, that when you look through the window, all you see is the clouds. Similarly, as you enter into the holy of holies, you will experience a great presence of God, in such a way that everything else become shadows in the light of His glory.
Here is a beautiful song.

When I look into Your holiness
When I gaze into Your loveliness (Your loveliness)
When all things that surround become shadows
In the light of You (in the light of You)

My friend, I would like to invite you to this holy of holiness. In the coming series, we will learn how to get into the holy of holies and what are we supposed to do there. This will be based on the verses from the Book of Hebrews in the Bible.

Let me read a few verses from it and close this podcast with a prayer.

Hebrews 10: 19-22 (even if you are not able to follow anything no worries, just listen carefully as i read. We will look into more of these in the coming days)

¹⁹Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, ²¹and since we have a great priest over the house of God, ²²let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10: 19-22)

Let us pray. Father, we come to your presence in Jesus’ name. Thank you for opening us a new and living way into the holy of holiness. Cleanse our hearts and minds with your precious blood, so that we can approach you with a sincere heart which is free from a guilty conscience. Thank you for the entrance that you have given us into the holy of holies. In Jesus’ precious name Amen.

When Peter saw Jesus walking on water, suddenly an intense desire came to his mind. “I also want to walk on water” Peter cried out, “Lord, if it’s really you, please command me to come to you on the water”. Jesus said, Come. Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water.
Dear friend, if God has put a desire in your heart, you need to do two things. Ask the Lord, Shall I go ahead? And if He says, yes. Just go ahead. Don’t look around. Take your feet out of the boat. You will walk on the waters.
The other disciples were watching all of these. They would have been thinking, let’s see how far he goes. Let’s see what happens. But they were still in the boat. But Peter reached Jesus walking on water.
My friend, that intense desire to do something for the Lord, is from the Lord. Get permission from the Lord and take that first step of faith. Let the people around you watch and comment. Let not that bother you. You just focus on what the Lord is leading you to do.
Let’s pray. Father, thank you for this day. I want to do what you have put in my heart to do. Help me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Here is my first podcast

A very blessed morning to you, my dear friend. My name is Donny. Thank you for tuning in to our podcast today.
Do you feel distant from God? Do you think that you don’t feel His presence any more? Do you believe that God has given up on you? Have you failed God many times in such a way that you also have given up on trying to come back to God?
Will God ever accept me? Am I worthy of being called His child? I have gone too far from Him. Has He stopped listening to my prayers? Why does He seem so far?
My friend. I have a piece of good news for you. God loves you, and He is just waiting for you to come back. Let me read out a verse from the Bible. I am sure that this will bring hope to your soul.

James 4: 8 Come near to God, and God will come near to you.

Yes, my friend. You have to take that one step of coming close to God and He will come near to you. Very very close to you. He will come and hold you in His loving arms and say, My little child, I have been waiting for you. I am with you. I love you.
The very willingness to come near to God itself is a sign that you truly long for His presence.
So what are you waiting for? Just say, Lord Jesus, I come to you this morning. Forgive me for all the wrong things that I have done against you. I need you. Stay beside me, Lord. I love you.
Let this verse stay fresh in your mind, “Come near to me, my little child, and I will come near to you.” Let this day be a blessing for you.
