God Doesn’t Take a Day Off

Have you ever thought about how God never takes a day off? It’s a comforting thought, isn’t it? No matter what day it is, God is always there, watching over us and working for our good.

As I read through the book of Matthew, I came across a story that really made me think. It’s about Jesus healing a man’s withered hand on a day when Jews weren’t supposed to work, called the Sabbath.

Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus. (Matthew 12:9-12)

In the synagogue, the religious leaders, called Pharisees, questioned Jesus: “Is it okay to heal on the Sabbath?” But Jesus wasn’t bothered. He knew their hearts and responded wisely.

I thought about how every miracle Jesus. It was God working through him. Jesus said, “It’s God doing these things through me” (John 14:10).

So, the question is: Is God not allowed to work on a holiday?

There is no holiday for God. He never takes a break from caring for us.

Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:4).

Jesus pointed out something to the Pharisees: if their sheep fell into a pit on the Sabbath, they’d rescue it, right? So, why not help a person in need, which is even more important? (Matthew 12:11-12).

Then, with a simple command, Jesus healed the man’s hand (Matthew 12:13). It shows that God’s love and power are always at work, no matter what day it is.

This reminds us that God’s love knows no limits. He’s always there, ready to help and heal, even on the Sabbath (holiday). So, let’s follow Jesus’ example by showing love and kindness to everyone, every day. And let’s not get caught up in rules like the Pharisees did. Instead, let’s focus on love and compassion, just like Jesus did.

Are you sick or in need? Believe in Jesus, pray with faith. The Lord can do a miracle for you today?

Let’s pray!

Father, thank you Lord for being with us, all the days of our live. Lord I need you. Heal me, forgive me, and bless me. Lord, please heal the areas of my life which are withered. Help me to be restored. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
