WALK, INQUIRE, LISTEN, LIVE: God’s WILL for a Purposeful 2025

A young boy once flew a kite high into the sky, but soon the string slipped from his hand. The wind carried the kite far and far away until it was completely out of sight. Heartbroken, the boy thought he had lost it forever. But days later, while walking in town, he saw his kite in a shop window. He was so happy to find it, he went in and bought it back with its price. Holding it close to his heart, he said, “You are twice mine—first because I made you, and now because I bought you back.

As we enter 2025, we face a choice: we can either drift aimlessly like the kite in the wind, or we can stay connected to God, following His perfect plan.

The choice is ours!

The Bible says:

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

Here is an easy to remember acronym called Will, which explains the 4 steps to stay connected to Gods plan. Let’s break it down

1. W – WALK with God

Spend time daily in prayer and Bible reading. A close relationship with Him is the foundation for knowing His will.

2. I – INQUIRE of the Lord

Don’t rush ahead with your own plans. Take everything to God in prayer. David, one of the greatest kings, sought God’s guidance before every big decision.

In 1 Samuel 23:2, David asked,

“Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” And the Lord answered, “Go, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.”

Let us follow David’s example, making prayer and seeking God’s wisdom a daily habit.

3. L – LISTEN to His Voice

Hearing God’s voice requires quieting the noise around us. Spend time in stillness and let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. When Samuel was a boy, he responded to God’s call by saying:

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10).

Like Samuel, we need to be ready to listen when God speaks. Surround yourself with godly counsel and teachings that help you discern His voice.

Jesus said:

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).

4. L – LIVE in Obedience

Knowing God’s will is one thing; living it is another. Obedience often leads to blessings we cannot imagine.

At the wedding in Cana, Mary told the servants,

“Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5).

Their obedience led to Jesus’ first miracle.

Your obedience in 2025 could be the key to unlocking God’s first miracle for you this year.

Let this acronym—WILL—be a daily reminder to align with God’s perfect plan.

When we walk in His will, 2025 will be a year of peace, purpose, and joy.

Shall we pray?

Heavenly Father, I surrender my life to your will. Show me your will, and lead me in your ways this year. In Jesus Name, Amen Blessed New Year!
