1. Time of Fellowship (കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ സമയം)
The communion table is a sacred space where believers come together in fellowship. In 1 Corinthians 10:16, we are reminded that the cup of blessing we bless and the bread we break are a participation in the blood and body of Christ. As we partake, we share in the common bond of His sacrifice, uniting us as one body.
2. Time of Blessing (അനുഗ്രഹത്തിന്റെ സമയം)
Communion is a time of blessing, as we partake in the cup of grace, symbolizing the blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 10:16). It is an opportunity to receive God’s unmerited favor and experience the profound blessings that flow from our communion with the Lord.
3. Time of Remembrance (ഓർമ്മയുടെ സമയം)
In 1 Corinthians 11:24, Jesus instructs us to do this in remembrance of Him as we partake of the bread. Communion is a solemn occasion where we reflect on the sacrifice of Christ, remembering His body broken for us. It is a call to cherish the significance of the cross and resurrection.
4. Time of Proclamation (പ്രഖ്യാപന സമയം)
Partaking in the Lord’s Supper is an act of proclamation. In 1 Corinthians 11:26, we declare the Lord’s death until He comes. As we eat the bread and drink from the cup, we boldly affirm our faith in Christ’s victory over sin and death, proclaiming His redemptive work.
5. Time of Self-Examination (ആത്മപരിശോധനയുടെ സമയം)
The Scriptures urge us to engage in self-examination during the communion (1 Corinthians 11:28). As we partake, let us reflect on our lives, seeking repentance and renewal. It is a time to approach the table with humility and sincerity.
6. Time of Self-Judgment (സ്വയം വിധിയുടെ സമയം)
1 Corinthians 11:31 reminds us that if we judge ourselves rightly, we will not be judged. Communion is a time to evaluate our lives in alignment with God’s will, inviting His grace for transformation.
7. Time of Discernment (കർത്താവിന്റെ ശരീരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിവേചന സമയം)
Partaking unworthily brings about judgment, as noted in 1 Corinthians 11:29. Discernment is crucial during this sacred act – recognizing the true significance of Christ’s body and blood, and understanding the gravity of the moment.
In conclusion, let us approach the Lord’s Supper with reverence and gratitude, recognizing it as a time of fellowship, blessing, remembrance, proclamation, self-examination, self-judgment, and discernment. May our communion be a reflection of our intimate connection with the Lord, paving the way for transformative encounters with His grace.
