What is your 'greatest motivation' to live pure?
John writes
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. (I John 3: 2, 3)
Those who have this hope purifies himself.
Which is this hope?
The hope that we are going to see Jesus Christ as He is.
The hope that we are going to become like Him.
Those who have this hope lives every second on this earth carefully because they can’t miss the appearance of Jesus Christ. They can’t afford to lose eternity with Christ. They seek every opportunity to live even more holy and pure because God is pure.
Isn’t this your motivation to live pure?
Without holiness, you can’t see God
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Heb 12: 14)
God is super holy. We need to become holy in order to meet God.
There is no other way.
Nothing impure will ever enter God’s presence
Nothing impure will ever enter it (Heaven), nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. (Rev 21: 27)
Let the holy person continue to be holy
Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy. (Rev 22:11)
Let us wash our robes, else your place will be OUTSIDE
Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (Rev 22: 14, 15)
Last but not least. You may not want to miss this.
Jesus Himself says (probably the last words of Jesus in the Bible)
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done
Do you long to get this reward personally from the Lord. Live pure!
