This busy journey: what’s the point if?

We have many dreams, goals and ambitions. A long never ending to-do list! We pursue some, we achieve some. We are in a very busy journey, working hard day and night. But sometimes it’s good to ask: Where exactly are we going? What are we really chasing?

Most of the times, we are clueless on what we are tying to achieve. Wouldn’t it be wise to have a better clarity on the destination, so that we can take on the right direction?

The Bible says,

If the Lord doesn’t build the house, the builders are working for nothing. If the Lord doesn’t guard the city, the guards are watching for nothing. It is no use for you to get up early and stay up late, working for a living. Psalms 127: 1, 2

If the Lord is not actively involved in our lives, we are simply working for nothing, watching for nothing, and all our efforts are going to be of no use for us.

If God is not involved: we’re on our own. We will sooner or later realize that all our efforts were in vain.

What’s the point if everything we do is going to be of no use later?

So the question is,

Is the Lord with me in this journey?

In everything we do, do we remember God?

Jesus said in John 15:5

Without me you can do nothing.

We can’t really achieve anything without the help of our Lord.

But when God is involved, He will lead us into the right steps, warn us of the danger ahead, help us align with the right resources and guide us to the right destination.

Wouldn’t it be better to walk with Someone who knows everything from the beginning till the end. He knows what lies ahead. So it’s wise to follow Him, so that He will take you to the place where He has planned for you.

This is God’s plan for you.

In Jeremiah 29: 11, the Bible says

“I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future” Jeremiah 29: 11

Yes, He has great plans for us.

Before we get into the hustle and bustle of the day, let’s take a step back, and pray

Lord, I need you. Please help me. Help me to take the right steps today, meet the right people, walk according to your steps. Please guide me. I submit myself to you.

That would be a great way to start. Have a fruitful day. God bless you.
