4 Best Things To Do This Year 2021
Blessed New Year To you and family.
As of today, so far, sadly 1,817,998 lost their lives due to Covid 19. Nearly 2 Million.
Blessed are YOU since you lived on to see 2021. Thank you God Almighty for this great chance.
Consider it as a new opportunity from God to make some changes in our lives and to bring goodness to other’s lives as well.
As I sought from the Lord what he would want me to do in 2021, He gave me some insights from the book of Daniel chapter 9, which I would like to share with you.
I hope this will encourage and motivate both you and your family as you begin this year.
What is the first best thing to do this year?
1. Understand the Books
in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem
The great way to start this year 2021 is to focus on reading and meditating the books of the Bible. Daniel was meditating the Book of Jeremiah, which is when he realised the significance of “number of years” in a prophecy for Israel.
As we diligently seek and try to understand what is written in the books of the Bible, God will definitely open our minds to understand the truth and He will reveal the depths of these truths. This can even change the course of our lives and the lives of others around us.
If you are ready to take up this task, please share in the comments below, which book you are going to start today.
What is the second best thing to do this year?
2. Seek God in prayer
Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. Daniel 9: 3
When Daniel understood something from the Books, he decided to look unto God for mercy.
When we really focus on reading God’s Word, it will encourage us to look at His face. Daniel genuinely felt the need to pray, fast, and seek the Lord in prayer.
What is the next best thing to do this year?
Genuinely seek the Lord in prayer. As you read the Bible, talk to God simultaneously. Therefore it will be two-way communication. Read, pray, read, pray… When you read the Bible, God is speaking to you. When you pray, you are speaking to God.
What is the third best thing to do this year?
3. Repent and Confess
And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession (Daniel 9: 4)
When Daniel started praying, he started to confess.
Which means, he repented for his own sins and for the sins of his own people.
As we read the Bible and pray, God will remind us of our sins. Therefore let’s repent and cry for mercy! Let us confess our sins.
We remain unaware of the right and wrong in certain areas of our life. The Bible helps us discern right from wrong. As we understand more about God and how we have hurt Him, it is a reminder to repent, confess and reconcile with God.
Will you do that? Let this year begin by confession of our sins.
It will definitely move the heart of God.
What is the fourth best thing to do this year?
4. Expect a ‘personal message’ from God
You know what happened. As Daniel was praying, God sent an angel to Daniel with a message for him.
Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision: (Dan 9: 20-23)
What a blessed experience!
Do you believe that God can speak to you?
As you seek His book, seek His face, and repent, God will unveil the depths of His mystery to you.
In Daniel 9:23, we notice that, at the beginning of Daniel’s prayer, God sent the command to His angel for Daniel.
When we consistently do these 4 things (Read, Seek, Repent and Expect) this year, God is going to do great and marvellous things in our lives.
Get ready for a miraculous and supernatural year.
