God Kept Every Promise: 7 Years of Marriage, 3 Blessed Children, Endless Grace
By God’s grace, we have completed 7 years of married life. God has blessed us with 3 children; the last one was added last month. A week before marriage, my wife received a promise from the Lord about our three children—their names and the order of gender—during a worship service. We believed and received them by faith. As we waited and prayed, all three promises were fulfilled. Here we are, after 7 years, remembering how the Lord has led us through these years. The journey was not easy.
The first year of marriage: my father passed away, I had to move to a different country, the job was very tough, COVID started, our first child was born, but since it was lockdown, the hospital visits and purchasing baby clothes were all challenging. One aunty even stitched clothes for our newborn. The Lord provided. Jehovah-Jireh (Lord, the Provider)
My wife had some visa issues; we had to travel back, with the few-months-old baby, to India and continued in India for many months, during which the second wave of COVID hit, flights stopped, and my visa was in trouble if I didn’t get back to the country. The Lord opened miraculous ways by extending my visa even when I was outside the country. I travelled back to Kuwait. If the Lord opens a way, no man can close it.
Then we moved to our own rented house, and then came the next baby. With a toddler and a newborn, the next phase started. The kids’ health issues, our health issues, and hectic life were a new challenge. But in the midst of these, we experienced a new ray of God’s favour and grace. Jehovah-Rapha! (Lord, the Healer)
In my job, there were a lot of difficulties; many of my strong team members left for other companies, and I was overloaded. Issues came one after the other, but in the midst of these, God proved Himself faithful again. Every month, whenever we were in need, the Lord provided. (Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will meet all your needs…”)
The two kids growing up together: it is great and exciting to watch their innocent talk, laughter, and play:)
Now, here we are with the third one, and then comes the next phase of life.
Now, we are blessed with 3 children. God has blessed us and increased us in number. (Psalm 127:3 – “Children are a heritage from the Lord…”)
None of this would have been possible without my wife
I am truly grateful to my Lord for the wife He gave me to be my companion. Ever since I got married to her, the Lord has used her to shape me into the person He wants me to be. She can see what I cannot see in myself. Her wisdom and companionship kept me from many troubles. She is the best help God has given me. I remember my bachelor days, when some decisions I used to take on my own, many of which I later regretted, but after I got married, my wife helps me brainstorm and gives me all the angles that I would never think of. Together with her, I am able to take better and wiser decisions.
This is the beauty of marriage!
I love her companionship, and I am amazed at how my life is taking a new, better path with her help. God is truly leading us. I thank God for her.
Now, when we look back at the 7 years, all we can say is this: Thank you, Jesus!
The Lord is loving, kind, merciful, and full of grace.
I want to encourage all those who are married and all youngsters who are looking for marriage!
Marriage is God-instituted. This is the family you are building with God’s help. You were born into a family that you did not choose, but marriage is a family that you decided and chose to build. Remember, God is the One who joined both of you into one single body. (Mark 10:9 – “What God has joined together, let no one separate.”)
He is there in the midst of you. No matter what challenges we face, they are all for us to become stronger and for us to know more about how strong our God is! When life is at its hardest and most difficult, when all our dear and near ones want to help but there are limitations, we experience the true hand of God. Prayer should be our breath; trust in God, not in wealth or job or fame, but only in God. The One who started the journey with you will never leave you, no matter what! (Deuteronomy 31:6 – “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”)
He will prove faithful till the end.
We want to thank all who have prayed (especially our parents, siblings & families, relatives, church members, friends etc) supported us, and stood by us! We love you. Please continue to pray for us, that the God-given purpose for our lives and family would be fulfilled through us.
To God be all the glory—yesterday, today, and forever. Thank You, Jesus
